Making a Difference

Making a Difference Card Recipe

Linda Hinde, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

  1. Using Evergreen cardstock, cut a rectangle 11" x 4.5" and score at 5.5".
  2. To remove the upper section on the left side of the cardstock, begin by using the Paper Trimmer. Following the score line at the top of the card, cut to 2.375." Stop. Lift the blade.
  3. Next, rotate the card base. Beginning at the intersection of the previous cut and score line, cut 2.125" horizontally across the flap of the card. The rectangle section on the card flap is removed.
  4. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, secure a 2" x 5.50" piece of designer's series paper (DSP) to the outside of the remaining flap. Leave a slim border of cardstock showing at the top.
  5. Time to stamp the inside 5.50" x 4.25" piece of Basic White cardstock using the Nature's Harvest Cornflower stamp. The tip is to place a piece of scrap cardstock approximately 1.50" from the bottom edge. You can use Post-It Notes, but I found the cardstock gives a more natural and wavy line.
  6. Place scrap paper on your work surface. First, use Early Espresso ink to stamp the center cornflower. Next, stamp the partial flowers on each side to create a garden of stately cornflowers.
  7. Using Stampin' Seal, secure the design to the inside right section of the card base.
  8. Add the saying next. The 2" circle of Basic White is stamped with a phrase of your choice using Early Espresso ink. ("Thank you for making a difference in my life" is from the retired, By the Dock Stamp Set.) Using Stampin' Seal, adhere the white circle to a 2.25" base of Early Espresso cardstock. Add a few Dimensionals to the lower half of the circle and adhere to the card.
  9. Using a Mini Glue Dot for securing the ribbon, will make a lovely accent to your card. Remember to include an odd number of gems for that extra bling!
