The Allure of Neutral Cards: Inspiration #5

Exploring Neutral and Masculine Aesthetics in Card Making

As the 2024-2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog ends on April 30th; I updated the Neutral Cards Booklet. If you aren't familiar with the term neutral, it's a card that fits many cardmaking categories. Both male and female friends enjoy a neutral card because of its color, pattern, and texture. It is one of those cards that a variety of sentiments will be appropriate on the label.

Are there Last Chance products that you want to purchase? Do you have stamps and dies sitting unused on your shelf? Let's have fun making cards using your treasured stash! During the week, I will post my favorite neutral and masculine cards while exploring card making aesthetics. See the links below for previous posts in the series, and join me in reminiscing about the retiring catalog.

Even though I am sad to say goodbye to the catalog, I am also excited about the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog and new Online Exclusive products. Wait until you see the new sentiment stamp set with dies! Here's a tip - I will be able to fill up my sentiment box quickly.

How to Say Goodbye to Stampin' Up! In Colors

A Creative Card Using Retiring Stampin' Up!

2023-2025 In Colors Cardstock and Products

Attention all crafting enthusiasts! Five beloved In Colors from Stampin' Up! will retire on May 6, 2025.

Do you have a favorite color that is retiring? I tend to use Pebbled Path in many of my card designs. Watch this blog for my latest and past creations, which will be posted over the next few weeks. I am anxious to use my supplies on the Last Chance list before they retire.

"Sometimes We Need an Umbrella" is one of the cards that I designed. There's a free recipe click towards the end of this post. Enjoy! Sadly, the "Umbrella Days" stamp and dies are retiring.

You may have noticed that I was MIA for a while. I had been complaining about my shoulder for a long time, but the doctors didn't see anything in the X-rays. Recently, my shoulder quit working, and I couldn't raise my arm. You guessed it - my rotator cuff was damaged from a fall that happened many years ago. Thank goodness, I have a wonderful physical therapist and am back to crafting. Wait until you see the cards that I have designed! Remember to check the Card Gallery tab for a quick view of my cards.

While it's always bittersweet to say goodbye to familiar shades, the new annual catalog's arrival brings excitement and inspiration. As a demonstrator, I preordered a few products, which will arrive next week. What fun it will be to open up the boxes!

Take care,

Linda Ann

Allure of Neutral Cards: Inspiration #4

Discovering Versatility:

Card Designs from the Same Designer's Series Paper

Card makers often have a creative eye to notice a product's potential. While Seasons of Green & Good Designer's Series Paper is intended for holiday designs, I encourage you to flip it over and explore the reverse patterns that lend themselves to neutral card making. Neutral cards work well for many occasions, whether a birthday, celebration, get well, or a heartfelt note.

Take, for instance, the You've Always Been There for Me card. Using coordinating patterns and embossing the cardstock, you can transform a holiday design into a casual-themed card. The Thinking of You Always card showcases another idea for switching the holiday DSP into a neutral card for anyone on your list.

Have fun expressing your creativity by doing something out of the norm with your paper crafting. See the links in this blog post to discover additional neutral card ideas. In the Allure of Neutral Cards, Thinking of You Always is Inspiration #4.

Take care,
Linda Ann
