My Journey of Memory Keeping
Scrapbooking is not just about pictures; it is a way of preserving memories, relationships, and legacy. My own journey began with a simple desire to create a 50th Wedding Anniversary album for my parents, which grew into a passion for scrapbooking.
I spent hours selecting sentimental pictures and designing each page, hoping to create a heartfelt tribute to my parents' marriage. Reliving memories through scrapping photographs was a project that I began to enjoy - often into the late hours of the night. Once my parents' album was finished and I closed the cover, I realized that I was surrounded by cardstock, scraps of cut-off pictures, empty tape runners, and many more remains from my adventure. I smiled, thinking of the success of finishing something I had started.
After the anniversary album, I decided to make albums for our two sons. However, life's unpredictability can sometimes overshadow plans, and it was ten years later that my determination finally helped me finish our eldest son's album. It was a feeling of success to give him the album.
On to our youngest son's album, which turned into another late-night project. There's something about scrapbooking when the world around you is quiet and peaceful. I knew I wanted to give him a finished album on his 30th birthday, but my gift was sadly a half-completed scrapbook.
We experienced storm damage that disrupted my projects, and precious images were lost during the restoration. I had incorrectly downloaded images to a hard drive. Through the miracle of a computer technician, he retrieved a few pictures from an older PC, and I am back to scrapbooking, thanks to the additional help of Stampin' Up! workshop kits, Craft Some Joy's valuable Progress on Projects virtual workshop, and the Creative Design Team's sketchbook.
Watch my blog for further scrapbooking and studio organization updates. I am working on a couple of albums using the Weekend Adventures Workshop Kit. Let's embrace the joy of preserving our memories together and inspire each other to revisit our projects, sharing memory keeping that will be treasured for generations to come.
Take care,
Linda Ann
