The Allure of Neutral Cards: A Daily Inspiration #3

Tips for Unlocking the Potential with Designer's Series Paper

Card makers often have a creative eye to notice a product's potential. While Seasons of Green & Good Designer's Series Paper is intended for holiday designs, I encourage you to flip it over and explore the reverse patterns that lend themselves to neutral card making. Neutral cards work well for many occasions, whether a birthday, celebration, get well, or a heartfelt note.

Take, for instance, the You've Always Been There for Me card. Using coordinating patterns and embossing the cardstock, you can transform a holiday design into a casual-themed card. The Thinking of You Always card showcases another idea for switching the holiday DSP into a neutral card for anyone on your list.

Have fun expressing your creativity by doing something out of the norm with your paper crafting. See the links in this blog post to discover additional neutral card ideas.

The Allure of Neutral Cards: A Daily Inspiration #2

Capture Neutral Colors

Prepare for another neutral card making session with the fun fold Proud of You card. Designed to use the two-sided Neutral Early Espresso Designers Series Paper, this card works well for many occasions, whether a birthday, celebration, get well, or a heartfelt note.

Another tip: If you find yourself in a folding fiasco with crooked lines, fear not! A simple trick is to cover any mishaps with various circles, turning the potential errors into a unique design. Card making is a personal expression; therefore, embrace the journey, mistakes, and all.

Notice the crooked fold on the upper left side. A few circles and it is hidden!

Remember to Decorate the Inside of the Card

When creating Neutral Cards, think about the font. Consider straight lines and chunky dark letters instead of scrolls and flowy working. Decorate the inside with stamped images, DSP borders, and double-matting.

The Allure of Neutral Cards: A Daily Inspiration #1

Serene Blocks Designer Series Paper

Paper crafters know the importance and versatility of neutral cards in their collection, and I agree! Neutral cards are a must-have in your card stash because they are perfectly suited for everyone. Whether celebrating a birthday, expressing gratitude, or simply sending a warm hello, having a selection of neutral cards ready ensures you are always prepared to share your heartfelt sentiments.

The Serene Blocks card is an ideal example of this versatility. Today, I made it a Happy Birthday card.

Not only is the block design fun to create, but the pattern is a technique for using up one-inch scraps. If you prefer to use the beautiful Serene Love DSP, note that it is on the Last Chance list. I wouldn't want you to miss out on this fantastic opportunity to enhance your card-making experience.

I hope you enjoy a week of neutral cards posted daily and are busy card-making. Join the newly formed group, Tranquil Paper Crafters, and use the #neutralcards when you upload your creations. I can't wait to see your cards! Feel free to share cards with products from your stash!
