While reading today's blog post, find the links in the blue boxes for the free planner example calendars and a blank page to customize your November calendar.

Download the calendar to fill in the spaces.

How to Print a 9.25" x 7" size for a Classic Happy Planner:

  • Follow the Classic Happy Planner link in the blue box.
  • Size your printer to 8.5" x 11" paper at 100%.
  • For my HP printer the Stampin' Up! Basic White cardstock feeds well through the machine.
  • Print.
  • Next, I use a Paper Trimmer to resize the cardstock to the classic size of 9.25" wide x 7" high.
    • First, trim the left side of the calendar along the red line.
    • Next, line up the right side of the calendar so that it measures 9.25" wide. The goal is to cut along the red line but it depends on the scale of your printer.
    • Lastly, trim off 1.5" along the top edge of the cardstock. The height needs to measure 7".
  • My favorite Happy Planner is the classic vertical. Select the month of November pages.

  • Insert into the Happy Planner at the beginning of the month or in a selected section using rings

Preparing for the Pen

Draw lines using the handy "Line it Up" stencils. There are boxes to draw squares or circles for creating checkboxes.

Tombow makes my favorite correct tape. It covers mistakes, and the tape hides planner lines that peek through stickers.

When it is time for the pen, I select the MUJI 0.38 black fine gel ink

Stampin' Blends are my favorite alcohol markers to blend, add highlights, and draw shadows for a 3D coloring effect.

Tips on Using the Host Code - What are the Benefits?

Host Code. Is this term unfamiliar to you? When I started shopping with Stampin' Up! I admit I didn't know what my demonstrator meant by a Host Code. I was happy though - because I received a discount and free items! My discovery of the benefits happened when I became a demonstrator. That is when I learned about discounts and appreciation gifts.
Take care,

10 Tips to Coordinate Cardstock with Designer Series Paper: Unlocking the Secrets to Card Creations

When your eagerly awaited Designer Series Paper (DSP) arrives from Stampin' Up!, the rush of crafting begins! But what comes next?

The longer that I paper craft, the more I discover creative resources such as:

  1. Labels on the DSP package list coordinating cardstock colors.
  2. Read the online or catalog descriptions for DSP for color matching.
  3. The Stampin' Up! catalogs display examples of cards and color schemes.
  4. Upload the Color Coach Cards for color scheme ideas.
  5. Check out the newest Stampin' Up! product, The Color Coach wheel for selecting cardstock.
  6. Seek inspiration from Social Media.
  7. Browse blogs and demonstrator's pages for color inspiration.
  8. The world of color is all around you. Look at colors in fabric, nature, food styling, home décor, colors on packaging, and (one of my secrets) the cover of puzzle boxes.
  9. Purchase suites or kits where the designer completes the color choices.
  10. Lastly, experiment with color! Adding a neutral (white, beige, gray, black, or brown) helps blend an "interesting" color scheme.

I encourage you to unleash your imagination and take full advantage of these resources to elevate your crafting experience. Further explanation of the tips are continued in today's blog post.

Take care,

Linda Ann

Explanation of Tips!

1. Labels on DSP Packaging

Look on the back of the cardboard inserted in the DSP packing to find a list of coordinating colors for cardstock, ink pads, blenders, markers, and embellishments.

2. Online and Catalog Descriptions

Stampin' Up! provides helpful color coordinating tips on the page where a product is described.

3. Examples

Discover card making and scrapbooking ideas shown with products. Want to learn how to make Regal Winter cards? Go to the Shopping Favorites page to find the catalogs with recipe links or click on the button below the image.

4. Color Coach Cards

A favorite tool from Stampin' Up! is the Color Coach Cards, which help coordinate color schemes. Follow the links to print free charts from the 2024 - 2025 catalog.

See the Night of Navy Color Coach card example below:

5. Color Coach Wheel NEW!

The Color Coach Wheel went live on November 5th, 2024.

6. Inspiration from Social Media

Pinterest
Facebook
Instagram

"I am going down the rabbit hole."
Do you relate to this saying? The World Wide Web has a wealth of information and ideas for card making and scrapbooking.

7. Browse Blogs and Demonstrator's Pages

When looking for ideas on coordinating DSP colors, check out Paper Crafter's websites for CASE ideas. Remember always to give credit to their designs when creating copies. See the links below for my blog and webshop.

8. World of Color

Look at colors in fabric, nature, food styling, home décor, colors on packaging, and (one of my secrets) the cover of puzzle boxes.

9. Purchase Suites or Kits

One of the most helpful resources when working on DYI projects is to use coordinated suites or kits. The image shows the Regal Winter Suite from Stampin' Up! See the product shopping icons at the end of this post for additional information.

10. Experiment with Color and Include Neutrals

Have fun with colors. If you feel the hues are overwhelming, include a neutral to tone down the vibrancy. Consider using embellishments or ribbon to provide a resting spot for the eye or use neutral matting.
