Tips on Creating Neutral Cards

1. Characteristics to consider when selecting colors.
  • Deeper and darker hues accented with muted shades to create balance in a neutral design.
  • Focus on white and black, in addition to basic neutral colors.
  • Use relaxing color schemes.

 2. Linear geometric shapes are combined with an accent of a subtle curve.

 3. Selected fonts tend to be printed rather than cursive. The lines are straighter and sometimes bold.

4. Matte finishes are the norm versus a glossy surface.

5. Choose neutral embellishments in addition to metallic-looking gems and sequins.

6. Use products that resemble nature and natural materials. For example, select burlap-textured ribbon, linen thread, or Baker's twine.

7. When creating neutral cards, consider simplicity and minimalism. The saying "Less is More" should be considered.
