Calm and Quiet on the Dock Card
Step into a world of creativity as you explore new possibilities in card design by layering mats. Begin this card making technique with the Stampin' Up! host stamp called Calm and Quiet, and die cut a unique pattern using the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. See my tips on this technique further in the post. The rich Blackberry Bliss cardstock sets a rich tone for the card base, while the enchanting Poetic Expression designer series paper adds a touch of charm to the background. Let your imagination soar and turn every card into a work of art!
Take care,
Linda Ann
Instructions for the Layered Mats:
Instructions for the Layered Mats:
- Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the Calm & Quiet dock design on a piece of 3" x 4.5" Basic White Cardstock.
- Die cut the stamped main frame with the largest and next sized down Thoughtful Expressions dies. Use a Post-It Note to keep the framed border a consistent size while cutting.
- Go down one size with the Thoughtful Expressions dies and cut out the stamped top layer.
- The outside border and top layer can be set aside.
- Die cut the 2.5" x 4" Blackberry Bliss layer with the second largest Thoughtful Expressions die.
- Assemble the layers by gluing the main frame to the middle of the card front.
- Next, add Dimensionals and adhere the Blackberry Bliss mat to the front of the card, positioning it inside the main border. Finally, adhere the top lay to the Blackberry Bliss mat. A tape runner is recommended.
